Scottish Porridge Recipe

Scottish porridge is a very nutritious food and serves as a great alternative to cereal for breakfast. It is made of oats which we know are high in dietary fiber. It is sweet and delicious and isn't a fuss to make.

  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 3 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • Salt
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Jam
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Cream


  • In a pan, add milk, oats and salt and place on medium flame.
  • Boil the oats and keep stirring them until porridge gets thick.
  • After it is cooked properly, lower the flame and let it cook for 6- 7 more minutes.
  • Remove the pan from flame and keep it still for 30 seconds and serve it with brown sugar, maple syrup, fresh cream and jam.
