Strata Recipe
Strata is known as “the breakfast casserole that your overnight guests will think you toiled away on all morning when in reality, you simply whipped it up the night before and just popped in the oven. This hearty and comforting dish that can be prepared well in advance and enjoyed any time of day.

1 cup Unsalted Butter 6 Eggs 1 ½ cups Milk ½ cup Half-And-Half ¾ cup Shredded Mild Cheese 1 cup Canadian Bacon 2 cups Chopped Yellow Onions 3 tablespoon Chopped Spinach Leaves 1 pinch Ground Nutmeg 1 pinch Cayenne Pepper 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt ½ teaspoon Ground Pepper 3 Minced Cloves Garlic 12 ounces Bread
Preheat the oven to 350o F.
Chop onion and mince garlic, meanwhile. Separate the tougher stems from the leaves of the spinach. Slice bacon and keep it aside.
Melt butter in a pan and add onions and garlic. Cook until the onions become translucent.
Then, add the spinach and cook till it reduces in volume. Also, cook the bacon until it turns pink.
In a large bowl, add eggs, milk, half-and-half, cayenne, pepper, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk them.
Grease a baking dish with butter. Then, layer 1/3rd bread, cooked spinach, cooked bacon, and cheese.
Repeat this for 3 layers. Pour the custard over the strata. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
Cover it with foil and bake for an hour and 10 minutes until golden, puffed, and set in the center.
After baking it, let it cool for 15 minutes. The Strata is ready!
