Pot Congee Recipe

Pot congee is a classic Chinese breakfast dish. It is also a staple in many other countries, including Burma, Indonesia, Japan, and even parts of Europe. Congee is essentially a rice porridge made by boiling rice in a great deal of water until it breaks down into a pudding-like consistency.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 11 cups Water
  • ½ tablespoon Vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • Firstly, wash the rice properly. Now, soak the rice in water for 30- 35 minutes.
  • Add in the vegetable oil and keep it still for 12- 15 minutes.
  • Now, add the water to a pot and boil it. When the water starts boiling, add in the rice.
  • Lastly, lower the heat and cook it for 30- 35 minutes and try stirring it for the last 6 minutes. Then, serve it.
