- 1 Prime Rib Roast
- ¼ cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 1 tablespoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Herbes de Provence
- ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
Place prime rib roast on a roasting pan and bring it to room temperature for 2 hours. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 450º.
Combine melted butter, black pepper, and Herbes de Provence in a bowl and mix until well blended.
Spread the melted butter mixture evenly over the entire roast. Season roast generously with kosher salt.
Roast for 30 minutes, reduce the temperature, and cook for 1 hour 30 minutes more for medium rare.
Turn the oven off and leave the roast with the door closed for 2 hours.
