Dutch lettuce, a classy German recipe, is relatively easy to make and can be customized to suit your tastes. Our salad comprises crunchy lettuce, crispy bacon, gooey cheese, onion, and a season of choice.
2tablespoons White Vinegar (or Apple Cider Vinegar)
1tablespoon Honey
Salt and Pepper (to taste)
Instructions
In a saucepan, cook bacon until crisp and drain the drippings and keep it aside as you may need in the recipe.
In the same saucepan, cook three small potatoes and two eggs separately, peel off the coverings and chop them into bite-sized pieces.
Now chop one medium-sized onion and fry it in a frying pan, having one tablespoon of olive oil to make the dressing.
Peel the outer layers of the lettuce leaves and remove any brown leaves or damaged or wilted ones. Place the lettuce in a large bowl with water to remove excess dirt.
Mix the vinegar, honey, and olive oil in a saucepan and cook it in the drippings you have kept. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Whisk the mayonnaise and sour cream together in a small bowl.
Stir in sugar, salt, and pepper to taste until it is nice and smooth.
To assemble the salad, mix chopped lettuce leaves, cooked bacon or ham, cooked and chopped eggs, and potatoes with whisked cream mixture and toss until coated with dressing.
Drizzle the seasoning of your choice over the dish and enjoy!
