Into futurism and deeply involved in the Metaverse? Well, good news for you because now, if you get hungry while doing things in the virtual world, you’ll be able to get yourself some delicious chicken wings! Wild, isn’t it? Well, let’s get to the bottom of this!

Wingstop Chicken Wings

With brands like Coca Cola, Disney, Louis Vuitton, etc., already making an entrance in the Metaverse, it only feels right for Wingstop to do it as well. But hold on and don’t jump to conclusions just yet!

Reportedly, Wingstop has filed for a trademark to sell their chicken wings in the Metaverse. Wingstop has applied for the trademark to the US Patent and Trademark Office on February 25.

This is yet another exciting step towards further exploring the Metaverse from the food perspective. The application is reported to cite a few “downloadable virtual goods”, providing deals on virtual food and drinks along with NFTs.

The most interesting thing about this whole affair is that it also has software for NFTs, cryptocurrency, reward cards, and digitally available tokens, which can be used both in the virtual world as well as the real world to buy food.

With the company not exactly looking forward to commenting on its Metaverse plans just yet, a Wingstop spokesperson told Insider, “the filing signifies an exciting public step to serve the world flavor in a virtual space.”

Back when the idea of the internet and the WorldWideWeb was first introduced, people thought too little of it and underestimated it. The same thing happened with the introduction of the Metaverse and now look at it.

Josh Gerben, a trademark lawyer by profession, said in an interview with Forbes, “I think you’re going to see every brand that you can think of making these filings within the next 12 months.”

He also added, “I don’t think anyone wants to be the next Blockbuster and just completely ignore a new technology that’s coming.” Wingstop seems to understand this pretty well and has chosen to act on the same.

The Metaverse has so much potential, and with every brand and millions of people hopping on it, it is becoming better and better. With millions of dollars already invested in the Metaverse, all I’d like to ask Mr. Zuckerberg is how does it feel to be god’s favorite?
