Expert Tips That I Recommend
- I like my chicken to be nicely browned, which is why I cook it well. Brown chicken equals more flavor, making your Thai Lettuce Wrap Chicken tastier.
- If you are using frozen chicken, I suggest thawing it properly. If not, the cooking time will be adjusted, resulting in less appetizing results.
- I have heard many people question whether the sauce is necessary, and the answer is yes. The sauce adds that boost of flavour to this recipe.
- Another tip for the sauce is to avoid making it extremely watery. However, if you notice it’s watery, you can either cook it down or add a cornstarch slurry.
- To make it extra flavorful, you can also add hoisin sauce, fish sauce, or oyster sauce to the skillet.

Storing & Reheating This Recipe
Storing
- Counter Top: Thai Chicken Lettuce Wrap tastes best when enjoyed warm. Also, it is a meat product, so there is a high chance of contamination. So, after 2 hours, I store it in the fridge to keep it safe.
- Refrigeration: If you plan to refrigerate it, store the filling and lettuce separately. The filling can be stored in the fridge for about 2-3 days; however, it should be kept in an airtight container.
- Freezing: Ideally, you shouldn’t freeze Thai Lettuce Wrap Chicken, as lettuce doesn’t freeze well. However, you can separately freeze the chicken filling in an airtight bag for about 2-3 months.
Reheating
- Skillet: To reheat the chicken filling, I like to add it to a skillet. I gently toss it until the filling is warm enough to serve. If you feel the filling is drying out, you can also add a little chicken broth.
- Microwave: If you want to reheat 3-4 Thai Lettuce Wrap Chicken together, then you can microwave them. To do this, add them to a microwave-safe plate and heat on medium for 30 seconds, or until warm.
