Expert Tips That I Recommend
- I always watch for the right temperature to have perfectly baked bread.
- I am fully aware that over kneaded bread can be hard, chewy, and unfixable. Hence, I am quite cautious when kneading my bread because overdoing it can lead to hard bread.
- If you want to prepare this dough beforehand and bake it later, you can store it in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
- Whenever I have leftover spinach filling, I use it as a topping for bread, pizzas, or omelets.
- To enhance the flavor of this dish, I add herbs like dried parsley or crushed red chili flakes.
- To check the doneness, I insert a toothpick into the bread. If it comes out clean, the bread is done; however, if it has some crumbs sticking to it, I put it back in the oven for further baking.

Recipe Variations For Different Diets
- Keto Friendly: To make this spinach bread recipe keto friendly, I go for low carb flour options like almond flour or coconut flour.
- Gluten Free: I have also made this bread in gluten free style various times using a few substitutions. I start by using gluten free flour which is either almond flour or keto flour for this recipe. Also I go for baking powder instead of yeast because although it claims to be gluten free it is best to read the ingredients because some of them do contain gluten in them.
- Vegan: If you are vegan then I have food alterations for you as well. Start by using vegan butter and vegan milk i.e. almond or soy milk. I also go for vegan cheese and ground flax seeds instead of eggs while making this in vegan style.
Storing And Reheating This recipe
Storing
- Countertop: Even though many consider it to be safe to leave your spinach bread on the counter top for days, I prefer leaving it outside only for 2 hours. After which it goes straight into the fridge for further storage and to prevent it from getting contaminated.
- Refrigeration: I like to refrigerate my spinach bread which stays safe for around 3-4 days. I like to tightly wrap it with aluminum foil or store it in any air tight container to prevent air from coming in contact which could eventually make this Spinach bread hard.
- Freezing: Freezing is also a good option. This bread can be freezed for 3 months. Again a tight cling foil and air tight container to prevent freezer burns is a must. Before consumption I like to defrost it in the fridge or countertop and enjoy every bite of it.
Reheating
- Oven: I like to reheat my spinach bread in the oven. I start by preheating my oven to 350 degrees F and then placing the leftovers by wrapping foil around them. Then I let it reheat for at least 10-15 mins after which I allow it to cool before serving,
- Air Fryer: Reheating the spinach bread in the air fryer is a convenient option when I have small slices to reheat. I start by preheating my air fryer at 350 degrees F. Then I place my bread in a single layer and let it heat for 2-3 mins. After this I check if it is properly heated or not. If not, I let it heat for another minute but beware that Spinach bread gets very easily heated in the air fryer.
- Toaster: When I only need a few slices of spinach bread to reheat then I use my toaster for this. I insert the slices in the baking tray and use the “toaster” option which gives me reheated Spinach bread slices very quickly.
- Microwave: Using the microwave to reheat Spinach bread has got to be one of the fastest ways. To do this, I like to place the slices on a microwave friendly dish and reheat it with a 10 second increment. I follow this technique until it is nicely heated however be cautious as it can get overheated which can make this burnt and hard.
- Stovetop: If you do not have any of the equipment mentioned above then you can also reheat your Spinach bread on the stovetop. To do this you need to layer your pan with a thin layer of butter and then place your spinach bread on top of it. L let it warm thoroughly after which I flip it on the other side to warm it up as well.
What To Serve With This Recipe
To make your breakfasts more filling why not has this bread with additional side dishes on the side. I always like to have a well made Omelette with this spinach bread.
To make it even more filling I like to have tomato juice as well. However, if you do not enjoy heavy breakfasts and want to keep this light then try this out with Mango Pineapple Smoothie.
This classic Spinach bread also goes white well with Tea or Coffee whatever you prefer. If you are not a breakfast person and want to turn this into a brunch then have this with a bowl of fresh salad on the side and your day will be sorted.
