I had this super Salsa Casera in Birmingham during my conference and this dish tickled my taste buds in such a way that I can’t even forget that taste till now. This sauce will give you a chunky taste of charred tomatoes. You can accompany it with tortilla chips, eggs or steak.

This sauce also goes well when it is rolled like a burrito. For those of you who like to add a little spiciness to their food, you can add Scorpian pepper to this Salsa Casera sauce as well.

  1. Cook guajillo chilies on medium flame until they become soft. Cut it with scissors and open it. Discard the stem veins and seeds. Now cut the chilies with scissors.
  2. In a blender, put these chilies, tomatoes, bell peppers, onion, water and blend it for 40 seconds. Pour this mixture into a large bowl.
  3. Heat the oil in a skillet and when the oil is hot, add strained tomato sauce. Stir it with a wooden spoon and make it thick. Stir for 5 to 8 minutes. Now remove it from the heat and sprinkle pepper and salt on it.

Your salsa Casera is ready now. This all-purpose table salsa with some honey and sugar can be drizzled with meals and snacks, rice, beans and braised beef.
