The pumpkin spice martini is a cocktail that has been around for a while. It has been an essential part of the menu of many restaurants and bars. The drink is made with vodka, pumpkin liqueur, and pumpkin pie spices.

Pumpkin Spice Martini Recipe

It is believed to have originated in the late 1990s at The Walrus and the Carpenter restaurant in Seattle. They serve it in September every year during their annual Pumpkinfest celebration.

To make this soothing drink, combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish the martini with whipped cream.

Vanilla vodka is an obvious choice for a pumpkin martini. However, this drink will be fascinating when made with vanilla or spiced rum to spice it up. Alternatively, you can use bold rye whiskey for extra spice.

If you are using pumpkin purée instead of liqueur, make sure it will create a very thick cocktail, so give an extra dilution. Shake it very well, much longer than you would other cocktails, to lighten it up.

What Ingredients Will You Need To Make Pumpkin Spice Martini?

  • Vanilla Flavored Vodka – It tastes like a delicious sweet syrup with a mix of citrus and beer. The vanilla flavor of this vodka will give an exciting twist to the martini.
  • Irish Cream Liqueur – The Irish cream liqueur will add richness and creaminess flavor to the cocktail. I have used Baileys pumpkin spice Irish cream liqueur to give a rich taste and luxurious flavors of pumpkin, sweet cinnamon, baking spices, and baked pie crust, with hints of vanilla and coffee.
  • Pumpkin Liqueur – I have used Mr. Stacks, which is made from pumpkin purée and  spices like cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and ginger.
  • Pumpkin Syrup – Pour pumpkin syrup on the plate for rimming the glass.
  • Whipped Cream – Garnish whipped cream as it will lighten the rich martini.
  • Pumpkin Spice – Sprinkle pumpkin spice over the latte for the notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove spices.
  • Vanilla Extract – Vanilla extract will add woody and complex flavor to the martini.
  • Caster Sugar – Caster sugar would work fine for rimming cocktail glasses.
  • Ice Cubes – These will help keep the drink cold.
