Everyone in Texas will soon be going “hotdog hotdog hot-diggity-dog”. This is because of the fact that Portillo’s is bringing their very own Chicago hot dogs to the state of Texas! The answer to your prayers is here. Finally, something is going right in 2022!

Portillo's Hot Dogs

Let’s get right into it. Portillo’s will be opening a restaurant in Texas for the very first time, and it’s already making my stomach rumble. Think about it! Portillo’s Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, etc., are all available in Texas to be relished by you!

So, where exactly will it be located? Portillo’s will be located to the west side of Frisco and towards the north side of Dallas, right in The Colony. What better town in Texas to welcome Portillo’s than The Colony itself?

In a recent news release, it was reported that the restaurant would be opening in the fall of 2022. The Texas people will finally be the heart of Portillo’s if you know what I mean.

So, what is this restaurant going to look like? The restaurant is envisioned to be a classic representation of a garage, featuring a garage-styled interior with local additions to it.

The restaurant will be paying homage to Texas by including a mural. It will also feature a vintage Toyota vehicle. The best part of this whole thing is that locals can help in designing the look of this restaurant! You can do so by submitting your suggestions to this link.

Portillo’s Chicago style hot-dogs have everything, including pickle relish, yellow mustard, tomato slices, pickled sport peppers, a dill pickle spear, celery salt, and white onions. Is your mouth-watering yet?

Their hotdog menu comprises several options like regular Maxwell Street Polish, Polish sausage, and chili cheese. Moving beyond the hotdogs, it’s famous for its Italian beef sandwich, burgers, etc.

Portillo’s serves onion rings, fries, milkshakes, etc. Not only that, but they also have meatless options such as the grilled portabella sandwich. You name it, and Portillo’s has it!

Portillo’s is expanding like wildfire and not the bad kind. They’ve planned to expand to only a few new locations this year, with reserving the priority spot to Texas. Michael Osanloo, president of Portillo’s, called Texas “an amazing market”.

Osanloo even said that “Texas is the Number one state for our shipping business, and we’ve had fans asking us to bring a brick-and-mortar restaurant there for years. We’re investing in the right people and the right real estate to make this restaurant a home run for them.”

All of this guarantees one thing the people of Texas are going to have delighted and satisfied stomachs very soon. This year is going pretty well so far for the people of Texas, and we hope it continues to do so.
