Malvani fish curry

Originated from the western coastal region of India, Malvani fish curry is a global favorite primarily because of the fiery and delectable taste it can offer. The first time I dined at a Goan restaurant is when I fell in love with it to the extent that I was forced to reach out to the chef to inquire about the recipe. After all of this effort, I was finally able to enjoy Malvani fish curry at home.

To make the Malvani fish curry, start with grinding the Malvani masala. Heat oil in a pan and saute mustard seeds, onions, chopped ginger, chopped tomatoes, sprinkle salt and turmeric in it. Then, add malvani masala and tamarind water to it. Let it simmer for a while. Lastly, add coconut milk along with fish. Cook it until the fish is cooked and serve it hot.

You can also add nigella seeds or any of its substitutes to the curry if you want. This was just a snippet of the recipe. Find the complete recipe below. There are other main course recipes on our blog as well that you should also check.
