To make Iranian chicken curry, make a paste of onions and garlic. Also, soak a few strands of saffron in water. Then, melt butter in a pan and fry the chicken in it. What Ingredient Will You Need To Make Iranian Chicken Curry?

  • Chicken – Take half a a pound of chicken to prepare Iranian chicken curry.
  • Onions – Saute the onions and add it to the curry for savory blend of flavors.
  • Garlic – Add pungent and aromatic flavors to the curry by adding minced garlic.
  • Saffron – Adding saffron will enhance the flavors and result in aromatic Iranian chicken curry.
  • Butter – Cook the chicken with a tablespoon of butter. Adding butter will result in better texture.

  • Iranian Spice Blend – Iranian spice blend is a combination of herbal spices like basil, cilantro, parsley, chives, fennugreek, marjoram, and tarragon.
  • Pomergrante – To give a royal Iranian finsih, garnish the curry with pomeragrante or walnuts or any other of herbs of your choice.

Steps To Make Iranian Chicken Curry

1. Merge

Make a paste of onions and garlic. Then in a frying pan, add butter and roast chicken fr around 5-8 minutes until it is tender and brown on both sides. Remove the cooked chicken to the plate and began to prepare the curry. Simultaneously, prepare saffron water by adding saffron to boiling water and covering it with a foil to keep it aside.

2. Gravy Infusion

Prepare the curry by infusing all the spices into the frying pan. First, add garlic and onion paste, and then add all the spices like curry powder, salt, cinnamon powder, turmeric powder, Iranian spice blend, and a teaspoon of black pepper. At last, add half a cup of water to the pan. Let it cook for 5-10 minutes until the gravy is reduced to half.

3. Final Cooking

At last, put the cooked chicken in the gravy and simmer for 20 minutes more to emulsify. The blend of spices merged with the chicken curry is delectable. When the curry is reduced to half, know that the chicken curry is ready.

  • 350 g Chicken
  • 2 medium Onions
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • ½ teaspoon Saffron
  • 100 g Butter
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Curry Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Iranian Spice Blend(Advieh)
  • ½ cup Pomergranate

Instructions
 

  • Using a blender, make a paste of the onions and then of the garlic. Keep the pastes in separate bowls.
  • Pour some boiled water in a bowl and add saffron to it. Cover it with plastic wrap or foil.
  • Cut the chicken into small pieces.
  • Now, melt the butter in a frying pan. Add chicken to it and fry for about 5 minutes.
  • Then, take the chicken out of the pan and place it in a plate.
  • Now, add the onion and garlic paste in the same pan. Add curry powder, salt and pepper, cinnamon, turmeric to it. Cook until the mixture turns brown in colour.
  • Now, add the fried chicken back to it and pour 2 cups of water in it.
  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook the chicken for about an hour.
  • Then, put the saffron water in it. Again, put the lid on it and cook for another 10 minutes.
  • Serve it with rice and savour its amazing delight.
