The simple secret to making this Gordon Ramsay’s Shepherd’s Pie even more delicious is to use fresh ingredients. The filling is made with ground meat, vegetables, herbs, stock, wine, and condiments. You can use either lamb meat or beef. The potato mash is also very simple to make. So, sharpen your knives and get ready to make the best shepherd’s pie.

To make Gordon Ramsay’s shepherd’s pie, make the mash by mixing potatoes, cream, and eggs. Then, heat oil and cook ground meat in it. Once cooked, add herbs, carrots, onions, and peas. Ingredients
  

For The Filling

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 ½ lbs. Ground Beef
  • 1 large Carrot (grated)
  • 1 large Onion (grated)
  • 1 bag of Frozen Peas
  • A sprig of Fresh Rosemary
  • A sprig of Fresh Thyme
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 small can Tomato Puree
  • 3 tablespoons Red Wine
  • ¼ cup Chicken Stock
  • Salt and Ground Black Pepper (to taste)

For The Mash

  • 1 ½ lbs. Golden Potatoes (peeled and sliced)
  • ¼ cup Heavy Cream
  • 3 ½ tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese (grated)
  • Salt and Ground Black Pepper (to taste)

Instructions
 

For Making The Mash

  • Boil a pot of water. Add the potatoes and some salt to it. Boil them for about 15 minutes.
  • Then, drain the water and put the potatoes in a bowl. Mash the potatoes using a fork
  • After that, add heavy cream and egg yolk to it. Sprinkle salt and pepper over it and mix it well.

For Making The Filling

  • In a large pan, heat oil and add the meat to it. Stir continuously and cook for a few minutes until it turns brown and breaks down into smaller pieces.
  • Then, add rosemary, thyme, and garlic for that herby flavor and stir it for another minute.
  • After this, add the carrots, onions, and peas to it while stirring. Keep stirring it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Now, add Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree, and red wine. Cook this mixture for about 2 minutes before adding the stock.
  • After you add the stock, cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes and it is ready.

For Making The Shepherd’s Pie

  • Take a deep casserole dish and put the filling in it. Then, spread the mash over it so it gets covered completely.
  • Spread the parmesan cheese over the mash and poke it all over with a fork
  • Place the dish in the oven and cook it at 400℉ for about 20 minutes.
  • Take it out of the oven when the cheese has melted and the potatoes are brown and set.
  • Your amazing shepherd’s pie is ready.
