I have learned this recipe when I was in my school days. During a cooking contest in my school, I made this loaf recipe and got the first prize. After that, I have made this Gingerbread Loaf a number of times.

Molasses1/2 Cup
Vanilla 1 tsp
Large eggs2
Buttermilk1 Cup
Powdered sugarfor dusting

  1. First of all, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Take a bowl and mix thoroughly flour, baking soda, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  3. Take another bowl and whisk together the sugar and butter.
  4. Add the molasses and vanilla in the butter mixture and mix it well.
  5. Add the large eggs in the bowl, one by one until well mixed.
  6. After that, add the flour mixture to the egg mixture bowl.
  7. Add buttermilk and whisk it. Spoon the mixture in a loaf pan and bake it for 40-50 minutes.
  8. Remove it from the loaf pan and set aside.
