Kebab is a cuisine in a Michelin star restaurant and street food. These are made of minced meat with various herbs and spices. So, I am sharing the recipe of one such kebab variety with you; Chapli kebab or Peshawri kebab.

Make patties with beef, scrambled eggs, veggies, ginger garlic paste, herbs, and spices to make chapli kebab. Now, cook these patties in a skillet until they get charred on each side for 4 to 6 minutes.
Chapli kebab isn’t a thick, stubby hamburger patty. Try to get them thin and flatten them with a spoon or spatula if they shrink or puff up while cooking. Don’t worry about making them perfectly round. Rough edges add character!
These spicy patties are easy to make. Serve them with naan or fill this patty in a bun and make them a great appetizer, main course, or side dish. Also, there are other recipes that you can have as starters. Let’s check them out.

What Ingredients Will You Need To Make Chapli Kebab?
- Ground Beef – I have made the balls from ground chuck for a super flavorful, juicy chapli kebab.
- Egg – Binds and moistens kababs. In some recipes, you’ll also find coarsely crushed pieces of soft-boiled or scrambled eggs in the kababs, which is meant to make them more tender. I tried adding them and didn’t find them worth the effort.
- Ginger Garlic Paste – Very finely chop/mince these using a food processor. You can also crush using a mortar & pestle.
- Vegetable Oil – Cook the patties in olive oil and brush the oil on the patties while making it to make it crisper.
- Tomato – For texture, freshness, and subtle tart-sweet flavor add tomato. Because they release moisture, it’s important to finely dice them instead of blitzing them in a food processor.
- Red Onion – Adds moisture, texture, and taste. You can sub-yellow or other onions, but I like the taste and how they don’t release too much excess moisture. If your onions are too watery, squeeze the moisture before adding them to the kababs.
- Cilantro – Cilantro brings a vibrant flavor to chapli kebab.
- Mint – We add fresh mint to brighten the kebabs with extra freshness.
- Coriander Seeds – Coriander seeds are ideal for patties.
- Cumin – Add texture and subtle flavor with cumin seeds.
- Cayenne Pepper – Cayenne will add a hot and a little fruity flavor.
- Salt – Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the beef balls to enhance their flavor.

Steps To Make Chapli Kebab
1. Prep The Patties
Take a skillet and spray it with the cooking oil spray. Heat the cooking oil over medium flame. Pour eggs into it and cook them by scrambling them for 3 to 5 minutes.
Add scrambled eggs to a bowl that you just cooked and combine it with beef, chopped tomato, onion, cilantro, mint, ginger garlic paste, coriander seeds, salt, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
Make a mixture by combining them well. Shape this mixture into patties by taking small to medium proportions and placing a tomato slice in the center of each patty.
2. Cook Until Charred
Now, take a skillet, heat the oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), and cook the patties until they get charred. It will take 4 to 6 minutes on each side. Serve hot.
If you do not like the crunch of seeds in your bite, you can replace coriander seeds with coriander powder. So, instead of 2 teaspoons of coriander seeds, use 1 ½ teaspoons of coriander powder.
