Some Facts About Me

I’ve done my Bachelors of Commerce. 

I have worked as a content writer and social media manager in the past. 

I started cooking in my childhood because my parents insisted I learn it. They even enrolled me in a cooking class. 

My favorite fast-food chain is Domino’s.

My favorite thing to cook is Pasta and Lasagna.

I have completed several Digital Marketing courses that provided me a deeper insight of the internet industry. 

Percy Jackson & Twilight are my favorite books to read. 

Who Am I?

I am Poonam, a proud homemaker and currently working as a content writer at TheFoodXP.

I have completed my Bachelors in Commerce and since I began trading spreadsheets for spice racks, I have found my new love of being a culinary expert and I believe in not just filling the stomachs but cooking food and writing about it with all my passion. 

I wasn’t much into cooking during my teens and only started because my parents insisted I learn it for survival. They even enrolled me in a cooking class. Gradually, I became fascinated with spices, different cuisines, and the science of flavors

Previously, I worked as a content writer with two companies, creating engaging content for our clients’ websites and their social media platforms.

Content writing has always been my passion since childhood. Whether it’s making to-do lists, planning my day, or writing about how my day went, it helps me stay organized.

I also keep a gratitude journal and sometimes write about how I want my life to be, using it as a way to set goals. This love for writing over the years is what led me to content writing. 

In 2023, I completed a digital marketing course from Digital Scholar, where I gained in-depth knowledge across various fields such as Facebook ads, Google ads, content writing, automation, SEO, and social media marketing (SMM). It was during this course that I decided to follow my passion of content writing, which has since become a key area of focus for me.

That’s why my love for food and writing landed me at TheFoodXP where I started working as a Content Writer for the recipe category. I enjoy writing about new recipes every day and making them for my family every weekend.

What Are My Tasks At TheFoodXP

Since I am a part of the recipes category at TheFoodXP, my key responsibilities require-  

  • Overseeing and implementing the editorial calendar for recipes. 
  • Affirming clear communication with our chef Jasbir.
  • Find the best recipe articles for referential purposes for further recreation.
  • Ensuring all content is well researched and referred with respect to authoritative sources.
  • Ensuring a complementary relationship between our original visual and textual content of the recipes.  
  • Collaborating with other writers to ensure that our content aligns with the overall business goals and objectives. 
  • Commissioning, editing and publishing recipes related relevant and engaging content catering to the target audience. 
  • Taking care of the factual and grammatical flow of the recipe content.
  • Keeping up with the industry’s quality standards. 
  • Continuously monitoring and analyzing the performance of content for better understanding and results.

What Are My Other Interests

Just like food is my canvas where I love experimenting, books are my escape to the realm. I love reading books while traveling and getting immersed in the world mixed with magic and adventure. 

I am a huge fan of books like Percy Jackson and Twilight. These books have inspired me to sparkle a bit of magic. In fact, reading books is like a  mini-vacation for my brain. 

Speaking of vacations, I love to travel to different places and explore regional cuisines there. 

Another dream that I have is to witness the northern lights that are also known as aurora borealis. I would surely want to experience the natural spectacle soon. 

Above all, my favorite part of the day is spending most of the time cooking for my family.

Shows like MasterChef also inspired me to try new recipes, and once I became a mom, cooking nutritious and healthy meals for my child became a top priority.
